Chairman’s report –
“This year we had a total of 206 players in the vets and 122 players in the super vets. We trust that you’ve all had good games. We were aware that the wet weather caused a few issues with matches having to be rearranged, thank you to Beulah for extending the deadline by a week to help quite a few of you to complete.

Sorting the leagues is a big job and we are aware that occasionally players may not in the correct division when they first enter but this normally sorts itself out after the first season.

Last September we ran our ‘One day charity tournament’ at the Leicestershire Tennis and Squash Club. The forecast wasn’t great but it ran very successfully with just a little disruption from a couple of showers. The lunch was delicious and we thank those who were kind enough to contribute various dishes.

It’s a lovely day and we had some great feedback from competitors.

Apart from thanking the committee an extra thank you goes to Val Noble and Laura Marriott-Clarke for their contribution in sorting the play schedule.

The money raised from the entries, raffle and donations were split, with £800.00 going to LOROS and £800.00 to LMPS.

We aim to hopefully run another tournament in the Spring of 2027.

Our donation to charity this year, we, the committee, have decided to donate all £900.00 to LOROS as most of us will have been touched by a relative or friend who has been there, and had such great care so. I’m sure you’ll agree a very worthy cause.

There were no objections.

The raffle was then drawn – the money will to be donated to LMPS

The flowers on the table were also taken by members for a small donation, also donated to
LMPS

Anne introduced the committee (no change this year), with their different roles, and thanked them for their time and hard work throughout the year.

Anne thanked Jeremy Trafford for taking the photos throughout the evening.
